YOU NEVER WALK ALONE .

As Liverpool faced Real Madrid the reigning champions of Europe, many thought that the Red Army led by Mo Salah , Bobby Firmini and Sadio Mane will be enough to take down Sergio Ramos and co. But little did they knew what was waiting for them at Kiev for the final showdown.champs.jpg

Liverpool were the most dominant force in this edition of UCL bagging a record of 41 goals Salah (11), Mane (10), Firmino(11) and the only team behind them were none other than Real Madrid scoring 33 goals with Ronaldo topping the charts (15), Karim Benzema(5) goals.

Hosted at NSC Olimpiyskiy, Kiev the game started with a mishap when Liverpool lost their most in-form player Mohammed Salah because of a tackle by Ramos and failed to continue the match with a pain in shoulder and was replace by Adam Lallana at the 39th minute of the game. Maybe this was the moment when the tables turned and the lady luck blessed Madrid again.FBL-EUR-C1-LIVERPOOL-REAL MADRID

His absence left the attack in-complete and Real Madrid kept on pressing Liverpool, with the rising pressure Liverpool’s goalkeeper started loosing nerves under pressure, that’s when Karius made a clumsy mistake gifting Madrid the first goal of the match and Benzema putting the ball back of the net 1-0 for Real Madrid.

Liverpool were not ready to go unanswered and Sadio Mane took the charge of the game and equalized in just 4 minutes from the restart of the game. Meanwhile Ronaldo was no where to be found and Real Madrid were been pushed back just when Gareth Bale was introduced in place of Isco. And boy oh boy the Welshman man ripped Liverpool apart scoring a brace.

Overhead kick from a cross by Marcelo.

Giving Real Madrid a healthy 2-1 lead and then a screamer by Bale which took Karius by surprise and faltered to deny the ball from going in the back of the net making the game 3-1.

Real Madrid showed the world why they are called the “KING OF EUROPE” winning the title for 13th time and also 3 times in a row after Ajax and Bayern Munich. They displayed their Brilliance and Experience in the champions league after suffering a humiliating campaign in Copa Del Ray and La Liga. lionel-messi-ucl.jpg

Real Madrid are up against their city rivals Athletico Madrid in Uefa Super Cup. While Mohammed Salah is set to miss the world cup with a shoulder injury a huge blow for Egypt, but he (Salah)has vowed to return to take on Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay for the world cup group stage matches.

Best Performer of the night:

Undoubtedly Gareth Bale who scored a brace leading Real Madrid to claim the title for 3rd consecutive season also was crowned the man of the match.

Worst performer of the night:

Well it’s a harsh to blame Karius, but he will like to forget the night and what happened in Kiev. Making two grave mistake or the game would have took a different turn. But the captain of Liverpool Henderson, Lovren and Van Dijk defended their team-mate and backed him by putting the blame on the complete team, Well that’s how you define “You Never Walk Alone”.

Also Liverpool fans displayed the most beautiful a part of the game supporting the team till the 90th min plus 3 mins of extra time. What a brilliant display of sportsman ship also gave a standing ovation to Dani Carvajal when he was stretched off the field because of an injury.

Well some Fans needs to learn from them surely!

In the End.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool: 5 key factors to watch.

As we head toward the champions league final, the key battles that we will be looking froward to.

5. Jurgen Klopp and Real Madrid.

Enter captionDor

Klopp has bittersweet memories against Real Madrid and went head to head while he was in charge of Dortmund. With the trio of Reus-Lewandowski-Gotze Dortmund put an impressive fight against Real Madrid quite a number of times. While this time he will be heading the game with a different team but we can expect a similar display of football. This will be high voltage game and will be alive till the 90th minute of the game.

4. Salah-Mane-Firmino.

Enter caption

With Coutinho leaving for Barcelona, Livepool was left with a void to refurbish the loss of the Brazilian maestro who was an integral part of Liverpool’s system, but then Salah happened.

Joining the reds on 22 June 2017, Salah has been the best player for Liverpool since then from winning Premiere league Golden Boot, PFA Player of the Year, African Player of the Year; it’s been just a year and he is making history.

With the trio of Mane, Salah and Firmino, Liverpool has flourished under Jurgen Kloop. These three have scored a total of 57 goals since Salah joined and will play an integral part to take Real Madrid down.

Zinadine Zidane needs to keep an eye on Salah! The world knows what damage he can cause.

3. Real Madrid for the 3rd time.

2016,2017 and the 3rd time Real Madrid managed to reach the Champions league final and they will not go unanswered. They may have bottled the League and Copa Del Rey but they will be putting their might in this one last game.

Keeping aside the controversial offside goals, Penalty decisions, and other moments where the referees favored Madrid, but they have been sensational to watch. The most positive team in terms of scoring goals and winning the Champion League format they will hit Liverpool hard.

Liverpool-Madrid battle, Madrid will have an edge over Liverpool having more experience of champions league football than Liverpool winning the title for a record of 12 times and will be looking to extend the count to 13.

If Madrid wins, they will make a record for winning the Champions trophy 13th time and also will be the second team after Bayern Munich to win the tryophy three times in a row.

2. Attacking Full-backs and Defensive errors.

Real Madrid will either go for traditional 4-3-3 or versatile 4-4-2 with Ronaldo (most probably) paired up with Gareth Bale who is scoring goals and is in a good form lately. Also Loris Karius along side Van Dijk and Lovren will need to deal with Ramos, Varane, Bale and Ronaldo in air duels, most of the crosses will be coming from both the sides of field from Marcelo and Carvajal attacking through both the flanks.

Madrid will play their defensive line high up the field, this will open up space for Liverpool’s frontline to break Madrid apart. Marcelo and Carvajal both of them have been shaky while defending against high pressing team, leaving behind Ramos and Varane exposed quite often.

Jurgen Klopp with take note from Madrid’s recent games against Bayern Munich, Juventus, Barcelona even yesterdays games against Villarreal. The match ending up 2-2 both of the goals coming in the second half of the games and scored buy both the substitutes of Villarreal.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo (33) the top scorer of UCL(120 goals) only trailed by Lionel Messi (100 goals) will give Liverpool nightmares. This man is an absolute beast the best goal scorer of this generationand there is none who is more deadly than Ronaldo in terms of scoring. He is back from a minor knock on his ankle accumulated during the match against Barcelona and he looks sharp and ready for the final.

Liverpool will need to display something extraordinary like Bayern Munich that kept Ronaldo at bay. They will need to produce a game like Bayern Munich who kept Ronaldo completely out of the game and he was nowhere to be found.

Any Defensive error by Liverpool and Madrid will tear Liverpool apart.

predicted lineups:

Real Madrid: Keylor Navas(GK), Sergio Ramos(c), Varane, Carvajal, Marcelo, Kroos, Casemiro, Isco, Bale, Ronaldo (4-4-2)

Liverpool: Karius(GK), Van Dijk, Lovren, Alexender-Arnlod, Robertson, Henderson, Wijdnalum, Milner(doubtful), Salah, Mane, Firmino (4-3-3).

This will be a match to watch, the reigning champions vs the dark horse.

663614-andres-iniesta-reuters.jpgDon Andres often claimed by cules all over the world will be playing his last match in Catalan colours against real sociedad this monday at Camp Nou, IST 12.15am.

Yes, the very last match of his Barcelona career as a player, maybe we can have him as the gaffer in the near future but for now let’s see how this all started!

Andrés Iniesta Luján,
born 11 May 1984 in the city of Fuentealbilla a small village in the province of Albacete, Castile–La Mancha, Spain. He started his early career at the age of 12, while playing for Albacete Balompié in a junior seven-a-side tournament in Albacete and as usual attracted the attention of scouts from clubs around Spain, but his parents knew Barcelona’s youth team coach, Enrique Orizaola, and he persuaded them to consider sending Iniesta to the Barcelona youth academy. Iniesta traveled there with his parents and visited La Masia, the farmhouse where the club houses its young players; the trip convinced them to enroll Iniesta in the Barcelona youth ranks. Iniesta says he “cried rivers the day he left for La Masia and struggled being separated from his parents; he was very shy and kept to himself while there

He captained the Barcelona Under-15 team to victory in the Nike Premier Cup of 1999, scoring the winning goal in the last minute of the final, and was named player of the tournament.

He soon arrived at Barcelona and started his career at Barcelona B team with total 54 apps 5 goals from 2001-2003 later being promoted to Barcelona senior divison team in the year 2003. Then was the time when Pep Guarldiola stated to xavi.

“You’re going to retire me. This lad [Iniesta] is going to retire us all.”

From then on Andres iniesta with compatriots Xavi Hernandez and Sergio Busquets had been the midfield trio for both club and national team. In September 2008, Iniesta was elected the fourth-choice captain behind, in order of preference, Carles Puyol, Xavi and Víctor Valdés; all four were products of the Barcelona youth system. His performances throughout the season were highly lauded, and he received standing ovations both in Barcelona at the Camp Nou, as well as from rival supporters in away matches. Iniesta had been the Concertmaster of the team years after years, 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP scoring the final goal against Netherlands in 116th minutes of the game to scoring a vital equaliser in the final minute of stoppage time during the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea, with a curling strike with the outside of his right foot 25 yards from goal, securing the tie on away goals as the match finished 1–1. Iniesta’s goal against Chelsea sent Barcelona through to the final in Rome against defending champions Manchester United.

Iniesta is widely considered to be one of the best players of his generation and one of the greatest midfielders of all time. Since 2009, he has been chosen in the UEFA Team of the Year six times and has been voted into the FIFA World XI on nine occasions. Iniesta won the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award in 2012 and was named the IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker in 2012 and 2013. He was runner-up to Lionel Messi for the 2010 FIFA Ballon d’Or and achieved third place in 2012.

andres iniesta

On 6 October 2017, Iniesta signed a lifetime contract with Barcelona effectively keeping him with the club for the remainder of his career. He played the 650th game of his career for Barcelona against. Despite signing a lifetime contract, on 27 April 2018, Iniesta announced he would be leaving Barcelona by the end of the season. Saddening isn’t it the magician hailed to be the greatest midfielder of this generation is finally giving up the Catalan Jersey. An institutional farewell to the maestro was held at Camp Nou on Friday evening. Members of the current squad, the Blaugrana invited some of the player’s former teammates and coaches, amongst others. Dani Alves, Samuel Eto’o Xavi Hernandez, Radomir Antic, the Gasol brothers, Joan Laporta and Emilio Butragueno were just some of those in attendance. Also present were all of the trophies Iniesta has helped the club to win, with the silverware sat impressively behind the stage.

With Andres set to leave this season he is yet to decide his future, with clubs like Manchester City interested in the eternal magician, but Andres is not willing to play for a club with the possibilities to face his Lifetime Club. But rumors are he can be replacing Mikel Arteta as player’s coach alongside Pep Guardiola.

Whatever the future hold for Andres every cule have been lucky enough to have him at barcelona, watching him play has been treat to eyes and joyous to watch. Trickery, Pin-point passes, Match deciding goals this man gave us everything. I hope you will again return to barcelona in the near future
Thank You Andres.

Mucha Gracias!

The new face of Spanish FA

15265837903357.jpg

The recent elections for Spanish FA ended with Luis Rubiales elected as the new president, who dethroned Juan Luis Larrea, the successor to Angel Maria Villar who faces corruption charges, and secretary Esther Gascon made the decision which is set to be unpopular with players of the national team and lead to repercussions.

So who is Luis Rubiales?

Born in Las Palmas in Gran Canaria in 1977, Luis Rubiales spent his majority of childhood in Motril. At nine months old, he broke both of his legs and the doctor was adamant that he would not be able to play football, yet his father turned his back on the medical advice and bought him his first boots anyway. This is how the story of the federation’s new president begins. Football has been his main occupation, but he had time to study, with special attention on nursing and on law, leading him to become a lawyer and to take charge of the Association of Spanish Footballers. His time there was successful, as the association had 5,000 members and a 2.5 million euro budget when he arrived, but he now departs with more than 9,000 members and a budget of 16m euros. He is the father of three girls and possesses charisma, leadership and he likes to work as a team.

A New Club World Cup???

The FIFA Club World Cup is an international men’s association football competition organised by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association(FIFA), the sport’s global governing body. The tournament officially assigns the world title. The competition was first contested in 2000 as the FIFA Club World Championship. It was not held between 2001 and 2004 due to a combination of factors, most importantly the collapse of FIFA’s marketing partner International Sport and Leisure. Since 2005, the competition has been held every year, and has been hosted by Brazil, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco. The FIFA Club World Cup’s prestige is perceived quite differently in different parts of the football world; while it is widely regarded as the most distinguished club level trophy in South America, it struggles to attract interest in most of Europe.

Controversy surrounding the club world cup “The first FIFA Club World Championship took place in Brazil in 2000. It ran in parallel with the Intercontinental Cup (also known as European/South American Cup), a competition between the winners of the European Champions’ Cup (UEFA) and the Copa Libertadores (CONMEBOL), first contested in 1960. After winning the Intercontinental Cup, Real Madrid titled themselves world champions until FIFA stepped in and objected, citing that the competition did not include any other champions from the other confederations; FIFA stated that they can only claim to be intercontinental champions of a competition played between two organisations in which no one else had the opportunity to participate. FIFA failed to authorise the competition in the 1960s.FIFA stated that they would prohibit the 1961 edition to be played out unless the organisers regarded the competition as a friendly or a private match between two organisations. That same year the Intercontinental Cup was first played, FIFA authorised the International Soccer League to be contested with ratification from Sir Stanley Rous, who had become the FIFA President by that point.Although FIFA hoped to eventually transform the International Soccer League into a Club World Cup, the Intercontinental Cup had attracted the interest of other continents. The North and Central America confederation, CONCACAF, was created in 1961 to organise its intentions of allowing its clubs to participate in the Copa Libertadores and, by extension, the Intercontinental Cup.[23] However, their entry into both competitions was rejected. Subsequently, the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup began in 1962. FIFA was asked by CONMEBOL and UEFA in 1963 to make the Intercontinental Cup official; however, FIFA gave the same response as in 1960 and stated that they would only recognise the competition if the Asian and African champions were included.”

Henceforth we are witnessing a FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP! The first Club World Cup match took place in Brazil Sao Palo, The final was an all-Brazilian affair, as well as the only one which saw one side have home advantage. Vasco da Gama could not take advantage of its local support, being beaten by Corinthians 4–3 on penalties after a 0–0 draw in extra time goalkeeper, Dida posted the first official clean sheet in the tournament. The first goal of the competition was scored by Real Madrid’s Nicolas Anelka in a 3–1 win over Al-Nassr on 5 January 2000.

A New Club World Cup Been Proposed.

Yes, A new format of club world cup that will be held every 4 years!!! FIFA are planning to create a new 24- Team Club World Cup that would see the current Club World Cup, which takes place every December and the Confederations Cup scrapped, according to a report. The new competition could begin in 2021 with China likely to host the event, The tournament would involve 12 European clubs with Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester United and other clubs who have won three or more Champions League or European Cup expected to be invited to participate. Three other clubs from Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Porto, Benfica, and Borussia Dortmund would complete the European contingent. There are report claiming Participating clubs would take home an eye-watering £50 million minimum, and up to £100 million for winning the competition and that FIFA will meet in June to rubber stamp the move. Both UEFA and the Premier League are said to have concerns regarding the new competition. The idea was proposed by none other than Fifa president, Gianni Infantino, to expand the Club World Cup. Infantino, who faces re-election next year, presented the proposal in March for a new summer 24-club World Cup every four years, and a “Global Nations League” with a final eight-country round of matches, also every four years. He has told Fifa’s six confederations, including Uefa, that the investors are promising the projected $25bn for four editions of each competition over 12 years between 2021 and 2033. The investors were described as “among the world’s most solid” but are unnamed, as Infantino said he had signed a non-disclosure agreement. Infantino has held talks with seven top European clubs, including Manchester United and Manchester City, about the plan, which could promise participating clubs an average of $94m each. City and United have not commented publicly but senior representatives of Real Madrid and Barcelona have reacted positively

4905.jpg
The proposal was first presented to a Fifa council meeting in Bogotá

There are reports claiming

After a meeting in Lyon on Wednesday before the Europa League final, Uefa’s professional football strategy council (PFSC) said in a statement that its members “unanimously expressed serious reservations about the process and in particular the hasty timing and lack of concrete information”

Infantino intends to continue discussions and to secure agreement before the World Cup starts on 14 June.

Argentina! One Last Chance.

Argentina! The country is widely known for the tango, elegant architecture, steak, wine, and football, while some of the most legendary figures of the twentieth century in the world of football comes form this country but the story of success is something different.

Argentina’s story of success started at the 1978 world cup held in Argentina beating Netherlands 3-1 to keep world cup home. Later in the year 1986 the team led by Diego Maradona were crowned the champions of the world held in mexico, where he(Diego Maradona) scored the infamous “Hand Of God”.

argentina

Now it’s been 30 years, the stars on the Argentine crest still counts to 2. The team led by Lionel Messi under the guidance of Alejandro Sabella lost to the mighty Gemany in 2014 when Mario Gotze scored the only goal at the 113′ minute to seal the deal.

What went worng for Argentina? let’s do a recap of the game:

 • Higuain missed a gifted opportunity by Schweinsteiger, failed to socre in 1v1 situation.arg 1.jpg
 • Higuain almost scored from a cross from Lavezzi but was offside.arg 2.jpg
 • Romero denying Schurrle.arg 3 .jpg
 • Howedes denied by the post.arg 4 .jpg
 • Messi misses the net by a whisker.arg 5.jpg
 • Palacio failed to place the ball into the net
 • Mario gotze scoring the winner at the 113th minute.maxresdefault.jpg

Later that night Messi was presented with the World Cup Golden Ball, Manuel Neuer with the Golden Gloves, James Rodríguez with the Golden Boot for scoring (6 goals, 2 assists).

2018 Fifa World Cup, Russia

Argentine team was in shambles under Edgardo Bauza, the team that reached the finals of the World Cup was fighting to qualify for the 2018 edition of the world cup. Bauza was sacked and Sampaoli was brought in to guide the team, the man was put in a mission with his to dream to coach a team with Lionel Messi in it.lionel-messi-jorge-sampaoli-ps_nm294k4hplq91loulla106k8k.png

Only two games to go, the last chance for Argentina to qualify for the world cup.But the game against Peru ended with a frustrating draw. Leaving behind the only game to play and that was against Ecuador. The match was played at Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa a stadium at a height of 2,782 meters above sea level where they defeated Brazil twice, Paraguay three times, and Argentina twice, amongst others, securing their positions in Korea/Japan 2002, Germany 2006, and Brazil 2014. During the qualifying for Germany 2006 and Brazil 2014, Ecuador qualified and remained undefeated in this stadium.

The match started with a heart-break when Romario Ibarra scored in the 1′ min mark, it was a must win game for albiceleste and the road to world cup was starting to fade, that’s when Lionel Messi happened! The little genius ripped ecuador appart with a hattrick and sealed their place in the 2018 world cup Russia.

After a 6-1 defeat to spain with a Messi-less squad sampaoli called upon 35 preliminary squad and later will be narrowed down to 23 men. A team that can boast of to have the best attacking talents in the world right now with the likes of Dybala, Messi, Higuain, Aguero even Mauro Icardi (inter) made it to the team of preliminary squad players like Zenit midfielder Matias Kranevitter and Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa have missed out on a place in the 35-men group, while there is predictably no sign of veteran Carlos Tevez. Tevez’s Boca team-mates Cristian Pavon and Pablo Perez, however, do get a call, as Sampaoli includes five Argentine Superliga names in his shortlist. Alongside the Xeneize pair is River Plate goalkeeper Franco Armani and Racing’s Lautaro Martinez and Ricardo Centurion. Armani and Centurion are also among three uncapped players in the line-up, a list completed by Sporting midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia. Argentina kick off their World Cup campaign against Iceland in Group D on June 14, before facing Croatia and Nigeria in the battle to reach the knockout stages.

lista-696x348

The opta figures behind Argentina’s success had been one man Lionel Messi winning 5 games and drawn 1 and without him Argentina managed to win just 1 game! argentina-ps_1l6pzuqxtqyvm1e7c60nc4ts3e.png

The world cup is not just to win the most prestigious tournament in the world of football but also it’s the time to show the world who Argentina is! not individually but as a whole team.

They have done it in the past, they can do it in the near future.

Vamos Argentina.

One Last Time.

What Went Wrong For Barcelona Against Levante!

barcelona_c4191e5

What could have went wrong for a team who had already claimed the league and with the season about to wrap up with just two games remaining to fight for the unbeaten streak? well the answer lied at Ciutat de València where Barcelona met Levante for the very last time of this season. Levante UD’s coach “Francisco José López Fernández” was blessed with Valverde resting the all time greatest Lionel Messi and also the absence of Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique at the backline, leaving valverde with just the option of playing Yerry Mina and Thomas Varmaelen. Now looking forward to the front line of Levante with Emmanuel Boateng and Roger Marti upfront, combintion of young blood , pace and passion against relatively unsettled and slow Mina and Varmaelen. Levante opened the game at just 9 minutes when Luis Morales produced an individual spark and passed the ball to Boateng, who did’t fail to find the net against the german keeper who did manage to get a hand on the ball but failed to keep it out of reach of the Ghana forward.

25284987

Now coming to the match facts!

With the traditional 4-3-3 and barcelona playing full backs higher up the pitch the backline was left with just Mina and Varmaelen, even Busi who plays as the pivot between the two center-backs was not present until the second goal was scored. After the 2nd goal Busi was put into much deep midfield role to help out the backline, until then Coutinho found the net with a brilliant curler from out-side the box. Varmaelen was substituted with Gerard Pique with a hamstring injury and the half time ended with 2-1.

The start of second half was even more disastrous when again Bracelona were caught in the lighting fast counter attack and very soon Enis Bardhi and Boateng found the net at 46′ and 49′ minutes of the game. 1

Look at the images above, Marti passing the ball to Enis Bardhi with Busi not marking bardhi who was in the danger zone of barcelona and as a result boom! a goal by Bradhi.

Semedo out of position resulting Luna absolutely free to make a run, while alba again failing to keep up with boateng, mina too slow and gaveup later boateng scored a textboo

Nelseniho the name given by ‘cules’ to the Portuguese full back Nelson Semedo, had a below par game and often strayed out of position. With the 5th goal scored the game was done and dusted then when Phileppe Coutinho decided to take the game on and score his first ever hattrick in the balugrana colours. Later in the game Suarez scored from the penalty to make the scoreline 5-4 with Barcelona still trailing.

With errors all-over the season costing the UCL campaign and now the unbeaten streak, what changes do you guys think Barcelona needs to overcome the European crisis? Comment down below.
